You Did Your Best - I’ll Stress It In My Report

The Chimes of Big Ben – an elaborate plan has been devised in order to extract the reason why the Prisoner Number Six resigned. A “plant” is brought into the Village in the form of Nadia Rakovsky. But just who is Nadia here going to report to at the end, Number One? I thought is was Number Two’s task to report to Number One. But having said that the idea behind ‘Chimes’ didn’t come through Number Two either!
Whoever Nadia was going to report to, her being dressed in her civilian clothes, suggests her imminent departure from the Village, thus suggesting she is to report to someone outside the Village. The Colonel? Sir Charles Portland perhaps, there are two candidates for Nadia's report. But as we are never likely to know, we shall just have to accept the situation as it is, any further speculation would be anti productive.

Pop Protect

"Pop protect, protect other people" say's Number 6 during the deliberations with Number 2 during Degree Absolute of Once Upon A Time.
But isn't "Pop" American slang for "Father?"
Pop, protect, Pop, as in father protect perhaps!
Be seeing you

  1. Ironically, I've just posted the 'penny farthing pop' animation from the 'Alternative Chimes Of Big Ben' at the Village. (Andy Capp at 'GoComics', 1st May, 2006.)

The word 'POP' emerges from the expanding Earth in this fascinating sequence discovered in 1987.
Another reference to 'Protect Other People'?

  2. Hi Steve,

Yes indeed, it was a fascinating sequnce of animation for the first cut of 'The Chimes of Big Ben,' and I have a copy of the video of that first cut which was first released in America back in the late 1980's.
