The Girl Who Was Death

The photograph on the left is a computer generation of how Kenneth Griffith would have looked like as a Nazi scientist hell bent on seeking revenge for the loss of WWII, by the total destruction of London, if the episode had followed the character in the original script. Yet in the finished episode, with which we are all familiar. Professor Schnipps is supposed to be Napoleon Bonaparte, who has built a rocket to destroy London, and the rocket is hidden in a lighthouse on the south coast of England.
If you look at the episode of The Girl Who Was Death, you will observe that there is more than a passing similarity between it and Ian Flemmings James Bond novel Moonraker, in which a German, Drax, builds a rocket somewhere near Dover, hell bent on destroying London.
In the novel Drax has German scientists working for him, all of whom sport Kaiser style moustaches. And originally in the Girl Who Was Death Professor Schnipps men would all have been 'little Hitlers,' instead of French Marshals. But even so, the similarities between The Girl Who Was Death and Ian Flemmings Moonraker cannot be denied.   I'll be seeing you
