    In The General there is the educational experiment of Speedlearn. At the time students are taking lectures on history, such as when was the treaty of Adrianople? Or who was it who guaranteed Greek Independence? This, and other events in history may have some revelance for those citizens brought to the Village. But such points in history have no relevence, for anyone who is born in the Village!   BCNU
