    In Dance of the Dead, No.6 leaves the relative comfort of his cottage after curfew via the French door {I wonder why that door was not locked like the door to his cottage?}. Down on the beach No.6 encounters the white membranic mass of the Village Guardian, and No.6 begins to run. Not run away you understand, I don't believe No.6 is attempting to escape. No, he seems to be testing the Village Guardian, testing 'it' or himself! Why? Well only No.6 can answer that one.     BCNU
