Caught On Camera

Where was the Prisoner coming from?

There is no need to ponder about exactly where was the Prisoner is going when seen behind the wheel of his car during the opening sequence, as there is no mystery about that. Quite obviously the Prisoner is driving to London, that being his ultimate destination, and where he eventually arrived.
Strangely, as far as I am aware, no-one has asked the question "Where was the Prisoner driving from during the opening sequence? Darkened skies, thunder and a long and deserted runway in the Norfolk countryside. Perhaps the Prisoner had a house in the country, although that seems unlikely. He could have been making a call in the country - having paid a call on the Colonel in the country perhaps, as he once did in Many Happy Returns. Wherever he had been, one thing is for sure - the Prisoner's in one hell of a hurry.
Me? I have no idea where the Prisoner was driving from. But I know this, and I'm sure you will agree, the opening sequence of the Prisoner is one of the most powerful and exciting that I have even seen for a television series. It grips you the moment those dark clouds appear, and keeps you Prisoner right from that very first clash of thunder.

I'll be seeing you.
