Portrait Of Danger Man - John Drake

John Drake, a man with high morals. Who doesn't carry a gun, but knows how to use one. He relies on his wits, and the various gadgets he carries about him. He has no truck with woman. He is a man who has a conscience. Drake doesn't care to be used for other people's gain, and detests having to clean up other people's mess - is that why he resigned?

  2. This portrait seems to show the artist has no grasp of the subject. It is bland to the point of childish cartoon. When you compare it to the detailed and intricate portraits the artist makes of Number Six, it seems to indicate that the artist has no clear image of Joihn Drake in hgis minds-eye. I find that almost of allegorical significance.

    1. Hello Moor,

I think this is one of Phillippe Cottarel's early work. But having said that, there is a youngness about John Drake, who seems to have avoided the ravages of time. He's clean cut, un-spoilt, and moralistic.
Artisticly speaking, the artist doesn't always create what he sees, he draws, paints, what is inside, the soul if you like. I wonder what Number 6's soul would be like? Perhaps it's best not to know!
