Caught On Camera

These two chaps pictured here, removing the For Sale board from the railings of No.1 Buckingham Place work for the Estate Agent Lageu & Son. Previously the house had been leased, there having been six months still to run by the time of 'Many Happy Returns.' So how come it was later put up for sale? Perhaps the lease had finally run out, and the owner decided to sell the property. But then the President told the former Number 6 that his hosue was being made ready for him. So quite obviously the owner had either changed his mind, deciding to re-lease the house once again, or more probable that the house had been purchased on behalf of the former Number 6, with the addition of the automatic door!
It is interesting to note, that the key presented to the former Number 6 in 'Fall Out,' isn't the key to his house. As in the opening sequence of 'Arrival,' the Prisoner uses a yale key to let himself into his house.

I'll be seeing you

  1. Most likely the lock was exchanged. Ms. Butterworth/No.2 certainly would have wanted a new key for the door. They couldn't have been sure about a friend of The Prisoner having a second key to his home.

  2. Hi Arno,

That's a nice idea, hadn't thought of that one. It's a wonder Janet Portland in 'Do Not Forsake Me Oh My Darling' didn't have a key of her own to the house.

The chap on the left puts me in mind of the Electrician/gardener in 'Arrival,' but I'm sure it isn't.
