  Not so strange that in 'Do Not Forsake Me Oh My Darling,' the Colonel/the Prisoner, makes no mention of the Village to Sir Charles Portland, because all unpleasent memories of the Village have been removed from his mind. In fact, mentally the Prisoner's mind has been rewound to the day before he hands in his letter of resignation. And obviously discovering that his mind is in someone elses body, the Colonel's, put a stop to his act of resigning his job.
    During 'The Chimes of Big Ben,' the Colonel denied all knowledge of the Village, yet there he was, in the Village. So he did have knowledge of the Village. But strange that the Colonel, albeit a different Colonel in 'Many Happy Returns,' didn't know about the Village, perhaps he had simply not read the file! Or perhaps he had, and was playing the Prisoner for a fool. But the Prisoner knew that the Colonel knew about the Village, so why go running back to them, his ex-colleagues? It might be a different Colonel in 'Many Happy Returns,' but it is the same organisation.
