From The Department Of Visual Records

Is this "D" for Drake?
There are those who are of the opinion that it is, or the use of “D” is suggestive that it might be. Certainly to use the code name XO4 in his message {Hammer Into Anvil} is in keeping with other such code names as PR12, BX4 and ZM 73 the code name known to be used by No.6 {Do Not Forsake Me Oh My Darling}. But then why not sign the message ZM73 if that was his code name? Well perhaps because Number 6 wasn’t given that particular code name until later in the series. But then it might have added a piece of continuity if the code name “D6” had been used in ‘Do Not Forsake Me Oh My Darling’ instead of ZM73.

  1. Hi David,
I assume that D stands for Digit. Because the Prisoner is not a Number! Is he? ;)

    Kind regards!

    1. Hi Jana,

Ah, I hadn't thought of 'D' for digit, but he still uses his identity of 6, which is strange for a man who continuely rejects his number!

      Kind regards
      D.

  2. Hello D!
Yes, I agree, it is strange. But there's a nice irony in it, since in Hammer Into Anvil Number Six uses the facilities of the village against it. This way perhaps even their numbering of people.

    Have a nice weekend!

    1. Hi Jana,

      Well quite, an interesting comment.
It is also interesting to note that even before the Prisoner arrived in the Village he was a number, ZM73.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend
