Thought For The Day

During ‘The Chimes of Big Ben,’ No.6 escorts a new arrival in the Village to the Green Dome. As he does so, No.6 appears to be almost at home in The Village, and old hand one might say. It's no wonder that Nadia Rakovski took No.6 for No.2's assistant!

  1. Hello David,

to me Number 6 behaviour seems to illustrate a saying: In the country of the blind the one-eyed man is king. He might be new but he already knows that there are no answers to Nadias questions. And he seems to enjoy to tell her.

    Kind regards,
    Jana

    1. Hello Jana,

A very interesting way to decribe it. Yes I agree, No.6 does appear to enjoy explaining some of the ways of the Village to Nadia.

    2. Hello David,

.. or maybe he enjoys even more that she is asking? Well, at least from his point of view there is someone who doesn't appear to be a guard or already brainwashed..

      Best wishes,
      Jana

    3. Hello Jana,

Yes, that's a very good point. No.6 appears normal, not nervous. He seems very much at home, at peace with himself perhaps, although that might be going a bit too far.

Thank you for your recent email, I will be replying today, it's been a busy old week, and I haven't decorated the Chrtimas tree yet, that's for this afternoon.

      Kind regards
      David

  2. As we know Nadia was a plant to manipulate No. 6, therefore what's telling us that she actually took No.6 for 2's assistant? - BCNU!

    1. Hello Arno,

Yes, Nadia said that No.2 is a very charming man, and that she would expect his assistant to be the same. But we didn't know Nadia is a plant at the time, well not the very first time we watch 'The Chimes of Big Ben.' We only learn Nadia is a plant at the end of the episode. At the beginning Nadia is as supicious of No.6, just as he is of her.
