Thought For The Day

One might think it inexplicable that the oriental taxi driver in 'Arrival' should speak to her passenger in French. When the Prisoner asks why she spoke to him in French, the taxi driver replies that French is International, she thought he might be a Pole or a Czech!
In 'Free For All' No.6 complimented No.2 on the breakfast cuisine "Nicely done, French" No.6 suggests. To which No.2 replies "International." Well the Village is an International community which No.2 during 'The Chimes of Big Ben' referred to the Village being a blue print for world order, an International community. And that is what much of Europe has become under the flag of the European Economic Community, and that was Napolean Bonaparte's idea, he even envisaged the European community having one currency the Franc, and and had plans drawn up for a Channel Tunnel to Great Britain! And the world is now described as being a Global Village. And one further observation, in recent years English has become the International language, which is also the main language spoken in the Village, with two or three exceptions.

Be seeing you
