Thought For The Day

In ‘The Schizoid Man’ No.6's escape attempt is foiled by No.2, because No.6 didn't know that Susan, Curtis-No.12's wife had actually died a year ago. But I think No.2 had his suspicions about the man who was riding with him in the taxi to the helicopter. Because as he speaks to, who he thinks is Curtis-No.12, about his ideas of the proposition No.2 had put to him. No.6 has to bluff his way through and tells No.2 "Sorry, haven't had the time." No.2 then begins to probe "Look old chap, we've been through many scrapes before, but we've never fallen out over them. The General's not going to behead you." No.6 responds with "We won't know that until I've reported to the General will we?" "report to the General.... that's a new one.2 And so it seems that N.6, in the guise of Curtis, is edgy, in fact No.2 tells him that he's never known him to be so strung out. What he means is, that he's not as he was! And so it is with suspicion that No.2 asks No.6 "Give my regards to Susan" and so the trap is set, after No.2 has had a quiet word with the helicopter pilot! Strange how the next episode is the General, though I suspect the two are not the same. But then "Report to the general... that's a new one!" And of course there were those with the title of the General in 'Danger Man,' as in the episode of 'The Black Book,' ie General Carteret who uses Drake to acheive his own ends. It's no wonder Drake resigned!

Be seeing you
