Well he once worked for NATO security, then British Intelligence department MI9. So I suppose he could be made a plant here in the Village, to winkle out the dissidents and Unmutuals! On a more mundane level seeing as he built his own Lotus 7 kit car, he might be a motor mechanic, serviceing the fleet of Village taxis!

Maybe The Village authorities should have made Number Six work for his credit units. I'd have given Number Six a menial job so mind-numbingly boring and beneath him that he'd have cracked and spilled the beans.

DeleteYes, I've sometimes wondered why No.6 was never made to work in the Village. A menial job......working down the drains, or cleaning out the septic tanks perhaps!
