No.2 may have got it all wrong, thinking that No.6 was going to sell out. In wanting to know what the Prisoner had to sell, and to whom he was going to sell it. However, at least in 'A B and C' we are witness to what would have happened had they not got to him first! Well the Prisoner had intended to leave the country for the continent. So why not France, and the city of Paris?
And have you observed how popular the Prisoner must have been? Just look at all the people who smile at him, acknowledge his presence at Engadine's party. Certainly he knew a lot of people at that party! It looks the perfect place to meet spies, agents, counter agents, defectors, Ambassadors. Dictators in exile, the rich and influential, and all those kind of people.
