The therapy Zone

Never did No.6 realise, that when he had been washed up on the beach at Beachy Head during his escape of ‘Many Happy Returns,’ just how close he was to Professor Schnipps rocket - hidden in the lighthouse!

Many Happy Returns
The episode written by Anthony Skene, originally with No.6 having escaped the Village, he was to have been picked up by a Russian trawler, and on board a Russian Princess. And there was to have been a romantic liaison between the two.
Pat McGoohan would have soon have this written out of the script. And in any case, what was a Russian Princess doing on a Russian Trawler? As for the Russian Trawler, we know precisely what that would have been up to, and it wasn't fishing. Well it was............fishing for information for information that it!

The New No.2's No Different To All the Others!
No.6 is elected as the new No.2 in Free For All, yet he proves himself no different to his predecessors, or his successors. The moment he gets the chance he tries to force his authoritarian will on the people. The people which he wants to set free, but who the people ignore, him and his desire for them to be free!
You see, there's always someone who comes along, someone who believes he or she knows what the people want. But half the time the people don't want it, so those in authority do their utmost to force it upon the people, just as No.6 - the new No.2 tried to do. hence proving that he's no better than anyone else!

The Professor
As with the question WHY? why for example did No.12 die for the Professor, when he was but a mouthpiece for a machine! The Professor was going to tell the students to destroy the General, that Speedlearn is an abomination!
"Learn this and learn it well. The General must be destroyed."
Yet despite this, even at his most free, the Professor is still an authoritarian, who cannot free his students, anymore than No.6 could free the citizens in Free For All.
"Obey me and be free!" Is the authoritarian voice of No.6 - the new No.2.

Be seeing you
