Thought For The Day

   "Anyone at Home?"
"What, you here again! You're not going to start shouting and swearing again, are you?"

Humour apart, something must have been said between these two men when the Prisoner went back to that office in 'Many Happy Returns.' the Prisoner told Mrs Butterworth that he had two calls to make, one in town, the other in the country.
Now if the Prisoner was going to see the Colonel at his country residence, why make his first call to see this man? After all he's nothing more than a glorified receptionist, and always seems to be doing the Times crossword when the Prisoner comes to call!. And yet it was to this man that the Prisoner handed his resignation to, so perhaps he's more important than I might think. After all, I would have expected the Prisoner to hand in his resignation to the Colonel.

Be seeing you
