Why the soda syphon? There is a glass containing a liquid in it, but just the one glass, perhaps No.24 doesn't drink! But again why the soda syphon, it doesn't look out of place. Perhaps it was a tool that might not look out of place, especially if you place a glass near it. The soda syphon is but a tool to be knocked over by No.24 so that No.6's finger can be bruised under the fingernail. I certainly hope No.6 didn't use soda in his drink, after all the non-alcoholic whisky doesn't need any more watering down!
