A Favourite Scene In The Prisoner

When in 'Fall Out' the former No.6 is trying to give his address to the assembly, but is shouted down at every attempt. No.48 was allowed to state his case, as was the recently resuscitated ex-No.2, and when it came to sir originally I thought we were going to learn something. But with Patrick McGoohan nothing was simple, it was as though he couldn't give anything away. I mean what has "I feel that despite the devaluation of the pound" got to do with it? Is that why sir was shouted down, to save Patrick McGoohan from having to think of something to say? That's how it appears to me.

  1. Once I heard actors talking that when they were supposed to deliver lines that the audience would not hear they'd babble gibberish or else count numbers, large numbers. So, why not speak about the "devaluation of the Pound"? Were you able to extract that from the speech? - BCNU!

    1. Hello Arno,
Yes you are prefectly correct in your comment. Talking rubbish, saying anything at all, I had forgotten about that. Thank's for the reminder.
Yes I was able to extract that from his speech, in fact it's "I think that despite the devaluation of the pound, nevertheless........" I am also able to lip read the Prisoner's, or McGoohan's last three words of that speach................"I'm pissed off," and I that's McGoohan expressing how he felt at that time!

      Very kind regards
