Quote For The Day

    "I'd like to be the first man on the Moon!"
                                  {No.6 - The Chimes of Big Ben}

 Why No.6 should want to be the first man on the moon I have no idea, because there would be nothing for him to do when he got there. I can only imagine that No.6 has a desperate urge to be totally on his own. Somewhere quiet, somewhere different where he can think.
    I wonder if No.1 could have made it to the moon? Even if No.1 survived such a trip, I’ve a feeling it would be a one-way trip, without any possibility of actually landing on the Moon.
    Then again, looking at it from a different perspective, what if No.1 was Curtis who hadn’t died, but had been resuscitated like No.2 in ‘Fall Out? I wonder what was in Curtis’ mind when the rocket blasted off out of the underground silo? If things had not been bad enough for Curtis in the Village, there he was sealed in the nose cone of a rocket, with a one-way ticket to, to god knows where, either space or oblivion. How Curtis must have panicked in that rocket as it blasted off, and with no possible power of being able to do anything about it. I wonder if Curtis thought about those who had used him so, having brought him to such an end. And in those final few seconds, to see the last human face he was ever likely to see staring up at him, his own face, just as the hatch closed, it must have been a nightmare for him. Such a terrible state of affairs for No.1/Curtis. It must have seemed as though he had sealed his own fate himself!

Be seeing you
