Quote For The Day

   "I say, what is it?"
    "It's not finished yet, doesn't make sense without the whole group. There will be three pieces."
    "Entries must be in two weeks tomorrow you know."
    "Yes, I'll be ready."
    "Axe, stone chisels, even these are outside the pale of the law you know, technically speaking."
    "Yes I'm sure you can wink a blind surveillance eye can't you."
                                                           {Number 2 and Number 6 - The Chimes of Big Ben}

   It is quite amusing to watch the scene when Number 6 is busy carving out the hull of a boat from the tree trunk, because Number 2 knows exactly what Number 6 is up to in the woods. And this Number 2 himself seems to find it amusing and derives pleasure in allowing Number 6 to get on with his activities.
   When Number 6 suggests that Number Two could wink a blind surveillance eye, I’ve always thought as being a cruel “in-Joke” on the part of Patrick McGoohan. Legend has it that McGoohan didn’t like having “in-jokes” put into ’the Prisoner,’ not unless he was the one who was inserting them at other people's expense! Leo McKern had a glass eye, and if Number 2 were to 'wink a blind surveillance eye,' that would leave Number 2 blind!

Be seeing you
