Thought For The Day

    As I look upon the "late" Number 2, I think of the words spoken by Rumpole, Rumpole of the Bailey, when faced with an appearance before the Senate the Inn's Court of Justice, for bringing into disrepute the reputation of a high ranking police office.
    "What will they do to me? The Senate of Inn's of Court, that august body. Change me utterly? I might come out of there as someone quite new, as myself. But who am I?"
    Somehow Rumpole's thoughts seem to fit the character of this "late" Number 2.
