The Throne At Last!

It strikes me that the former Number 6, pictured here sitting on the Chair of Honour, has something on his mind. Either he feels that something is wrong, something is missing, or perhaps he’s simply wondering if he’s turned the gas off or not! On the other hand, it might be that the Prisoner is quietly reflecting on the circumstances which had brought him to The Village, his current predicament. He might be regretting his decision of resigning his job. Regretting the death of Number 2, back in the Embryo Room, his refusal to cooperate, to settle down and join in. But it’s all far too late now. Number 2 said that if they get Number 6 he will be the better man than Number 2, hence the Chair of Honour. But at least he’s still himself, unlike the “late” Number 2. They couldn’t let him even rest in peace, perhaps there was no-one else worthy of putting on trial. Mind you Number 48 is simply a court Jester who does nothing more than entertain the court!
Perhaps Patrick McGoohan is wondering if he has it right with 'Fall Out,' that there might have been a better way but its all too late now, only history will be his judge!

Be seeing you
