When
in ‘Arrival’ the Prisoner attempts to escape The Village by taxi, he is
symbolically overcome by his own fears, in having confronted them by attacking
the membranic Guardian. However in having attacked The Guardian, the
Prisoner soon found it was a battle he could not win, because of the Guardian's
balloon-like qualities, in offering no resistance!
The Guardian serves and protects the
community of The Village. And when someone or something threatens that
community, it acts for the good of The Village. Like the immune system
attacking an antibody!
