Teabreak Teaser

When Number 6 discovers the abandoned raft in ‘Checkmate,’ he was in a quandary. Did he consider his confederates when he set off for the search vessel. Or was he merely thinking of his own escape?

  1. No.6 didn't have much time to think, but I believe he quickly realised that if he didn't act fast then he would have missed his chance to get to MS Polotska.

But if he got to MS Polotska and it was "on the level", would he have gone back to the Village to pick up his friends? It would be a very risky thing to do!

    1. Hello ZM72,
I agree, No.6 didn't have long to make a choice, to go after the vessel, or to go back to his confederates in the Green Dome. He couldn't take the risk, the chance of missing this opportunity.

Good question. Even if M.S. Polotska had been on the level, it would have been a terrible risk Number 6 would have been running to have the vessel take him back to The Village in order to pick up his confederates. Would Number 6 have gone back? I'd like to think that he would have been loyal to his confederates, but there's something in me that makes me think he would not have run that risk.Perhaps he might have thought it better to leave and return with "back-up" inorder to liberate The people of The Village. Where would Number 6 have attained that "back up," I really cannot answer that. Perhaps from the "other side," having once tried his own people twice already and failed!

      Very best regards
