On the day of his arrival in The Village, the
Prisoner looks up to Hercules who bears the weight of the World upon his
shoulders. Perhaps this is symbolic of the weight the Prisoner carries having resigned
his job. On the other hand, perhaps the Prisoner sees himself as Atlas, having
been relived of his burden because of
his resignation!
