Good Old Fashioned Brute Force!

Isn't always effective, as Number 6 found out on the day of his arrival in The Village. Having become annoyed by the piped music, he picks up the loudspeaker and tramples it to pieces under foot. Yet the music continues. In ‘Dance of the Dead,’ No.6 comes across a tele- printer in a very elaborately decorated and furnished room. He opens it, and sets about ripping out the wiring and printing paper. Yet a few moments later the teleprinter whirs into life, and carries on printing the message. Either Number 6’s attempt to sabotage the machine wasn’t as badly damaging as it should have been. Or it had a back-up system! And in ‘Checkmate’ Number 6 told his reliable men to tie Number 2 up, who thought that being tied up was very primitive. He thought Number 6 would have devised something more original. To which Number 6 said “Originality is your department. But try anything, and you’ll soon discover that good old fashioned brute force can be very effective.” And yet it seems that "Good old fashioned brute force" will avail Number 6 nothing!

Be seeing you
