readers of my blog will recall the article and following comments regarding the
colour of the piped blazer worn by Number 6, and how the discussion was
resolved. Well as a matter of fact the same discussion could concern the colour
of the bowler hat as worn by the Butler. Its looks black on the screen, and
yet when Morag and I were watching ‘Checkmate’ one evening last week, I
observed that there is a distinct brownness about it! A brown bowler to match
the inside lining of the cape which the Butler wears inside out. The bright colourful
stripes being far too garish, not sober enough, for a man in his position!
