Speedlearn!

   The Village and its community were being used for the educational experiment of Speedlearn. For this purpose a super computer, called the General had been brought to The Village. Also a Professor who was not only going prepare the various lectures, but was to be the face of Speedlearn. It was probably the British Government behind Speedlearn, and The Village was sufficiently distanced from the British Government so that they would not get their hands dirty. Should the educational experiment prove successful, then presumably Speedlearn would be implemented in Britain, perhaps to be rolled out across the World. So that when Number 6 brought about the destruction of the General, thus bringing a premature end to the Speedlearn experiment, he saved the people of Britain, nay possibly the World, from slavery to Speedlearn!
