A Favourite Scene In The General

    “Are you a student?”
    “Who isn’t, are you prefects?”
    “What are you doing here?”
    “Playing truant!”
    {The Professor is run to ground by the pursuing students, and manhandled back towards The Village}
    “Come on, well give you a lift.”
    “Where to?”
   “Home. Hundred percent entry, hundred percent pass, you know what the General said.”
   “Who’s the General?”
   “Come on, you don’t want to start the term with a black mark.”
    “Alright, let’s go.”
    {The Professor is being helped back to The Village by the students, while the helicopter circles over head}
    “Get in mister.”
    “Think he’ll make it?”
    “Who’s that?”
    “The Professor he’s due to lecture in a few minutes.”
    “He’ll make it. Great man the Professor, treats lectures as though his life depended on it!”
    “Alright, let’s go.”

    School prefects? Guardians more like. Number 256, I wonder what turned this confident strong man who was both disharmonious, and inadequate? Mind you they do say that confession is good for the soul, it would seem they’re right of course, quite right. And then Number 93 went on to be a delegate on the Assembly as seen in ‘Fall Out. He’s the one who reads out the charge against Number 48, you can’t miss that full beard of his.
    It was nice of these two guardians to give Number 6 a ride home, as it happens they were just in time. Number 6 wouldn’t want to have missed his first lecture, as it is, the whole thing turned out to be quite an education for him.

Be seeing you
