    51 years on and do we understand ‘the Prisoner’ any more today than we did all those years ago? We had better, otherwise it’s been a tremendous waste of time! More than that, it means file Number 6, section 1, page 1, paragraph 1, back to the beginning! Cue dark clouds, cue thunder, cue the Lotus 7 being driven at speed from out of the distance, and don’t complicate matters this time, keep it simple. Don’t let your mind get all in a tangle, keep to the straight a narrow, and whatever you do don’t allow yourself to be side tracked, or led down side avenues that turn into a cul-de-sac, you’ll only have to go back on yourself, and then you’ll be lost. Keep it simple and straightforward. Remember the simple answers are the best answers, so at the beginning of ‘Arrival’ where is the Prisoner coming from? Perhaps he’s just coming back from visiting the Colonel at his country residence! But he’s on a runway not a road, and the sound of aircraft engines suggests an airport. One thing is for sure, he’s not the Prisoner at this point, seeing as he’s not resigned his job. But he has escaped from The Village, he did that in ‘Fall Out,’ and as we know ‘Fall Out’ is the prequel to ‘Arrival!’ So ZM73, for want of a better name, has recently escaped The Village, is about to resign his job for which he’ll be abducted to The Village from which he has recently escaped from! Ask me another............... Who is Number 2? A person who has been recruited from the British Foreign Office, or promoted to the position of Number 2 from within The Village administration. Who is Number 6? He’s an ex-secret agent, which means like Number 66-the ex-Admiral and Number 14-the ex-Count, he’s simply not a secret agent any longer! The Prisoner it’s not difficult, its simple really.
