Blank sheets of paper! Yet Number 2 is
convinced that something, words, figures are somehow written on those sheets of
paper. He enlists a laboratory technician to try everything, infra-red etc,
etc. But I have to ask myself why didn’t Number 2 test the seemingly blank
sheets of paper for himself? After all he had the means when he used the electrostatic
Detection Apparatus earlier to test a sheet of paper taken from a note pad on
Number 6’s writing bureau, and discovered the note to XO4 from D6.
