Those who have copies of these 1982 videos will be only too aware of the strange pairing of the episodes. Produced by Precision Video, part of ITC, only four videos, eight episodes of the Prisoner were produced The Arrival {which is the original title for the episode} and Schizoid Man. Many Happy Returns and A B & C. Checkmate and Free For All. The General and The Chimes of Big Ben. Also each video has one opening sequence, with the end of the first episode running straight into the second episode, no end credits, and no further opening sequence for the second episode. There are closing credits, but not that which we are so familiar with. No penny farthing constructing itself, but rolling credits on a blue background. And what did these videos cost back in the early 1980's? £29.95 per tape! I have collected all four videos, and what's more they play just as well today as they did back in 1982. I also have one of these videos on Betamax format. So not having a Betamax video player, this particular Prisoner video will never be played again. Be seeing you
