A Favourite Moment In The Priosner Comes When.......

The Prisoner is handing in his letter of resignation to the balding, be-spectacled bureaucrat sat behind the desk. He does so with vitriol and anger, so much force is delivered with the letter that it upsets a tea cup in it's saucer and tea plate. Oh, for years several fans thought that there were two saucers under that cup. But no, one is a saucer, the other a tea plate for the biscuits that went with that cup of tea.
You know over the years I've wondered what the Prisoner was ranting on about to that man sat behind the desk, what Goerge Markstein had to sit there listening to while Patrick McGoohan paced up and down shouting his head off!

  2. Hello Moor Larkin,
I did stick with the video, and I did get my reward. Patrick McGoohan may have used force during the opening sequence of 'the Prisoner' to upset that tea cup in it's saucer. But he used even more force in the scene in 'Ice station Zebra.' And what compounds that force in the scene, is the fact that Rock Hudson tries to do the same, thumping the table with his fist to emphasize his point, but does it in a 'limp fisted' fashion!
    Best wishes
