Thought For The Day

Poor Number Nine, she was used by everyone, Cobb, Number Two, Number Six, and if the suggestion is correct the last helicopter pilot. For when asked by Number Six how she came by the Electro-Pass Number Nine replied, I knew the last pilot, suggesting that she had sex with him in order to gain the device. Of course Number Nine would not escape with Number Six, because she knows that escape is not possible!
"Last pilot" that too is suggestive, that they change helicopter pilots. Perhaps he was caught having sex with Number Nine, and had to be replaced!

  1. Sex is implied TWICE in 'Arrival'. You've already mentioned the 2nd occasion above.

The 1st occasion is when the Village manipulate No6's maid, suggesting that she 'be nice' to Drake (we all know it's him!) in return for 'information'...

Already this 'new series' seemed to be more sexually daring than its predecessor...

  2. Blimey, I'd better be careful who I admit to *knowing* in future, some people might get the wrong idea... :-D

The idea that the female staff might be 'available' for his majesty's pleasure recurs in "A Change of Mind' quite explicitly. It also crops up very starkly in one of the unmade episodes... the Kelsey one I think, but almost every one of the first 14 episodes involves some suggestion of 'romance' for No6, with the Queen even being brain-washed to *love* him, but no need for me to tell YOU guys this... ;-D

  3. Hello Moor,

Its no wonder Number Six never trusted a woman, he was always being betrayed by them, with one exception, Monique-No.50 the watchmakers daughter. Oh yes, and there was the young gypsy woman who showed him the real first act of kindness since his abduction to the Village.

  4. Number Two; "Number 58 is available to you for anything that you may desire...within reason..."

    Number Six; "Next!"
