Village Life

   An idyllic scene you might imagine, one that could at one time be seen in any park in almost any town or city in Great Britain. Seen here citizens of the Village sit and enjoy the regular Brass Band concert. But is there a darker motivation here than simply entertaining the good citizens of the community. For did not a Band play as the lifeboats of the Titanic were being lowered into the icy cold water of the Atlantic. Music, you see, has a calming effect, music, so they say, makes for a quiet mind.

  1. The bandstand in Southend (home of the fairground in 'The Girl Who Was Death') had a bandstand until it disappeared about 10 years ago due to a landslide.

    The musicians were reported to be playing 'Nearer My God To Thee' at the time...
