Caught On Camera

Every picture tells a story, so they say. Well here's a couple of pictures which can tell a very different story. We know the one of 'The Chimes of Big Ben,' but not so No.6's desire to build himself a "kit-boat." This desire comes from him having once built his own Lotus Kit car over a weekend, of which he knows every nut, bolt and cog, well he would have to wouldn't he?
But behind every successful man there is a woman, and pictured here is No.8-Nadia helping No.6 assemble his kit-boat.
Thing is, when this craft takes to the water it looks so flimsy and rickerty, that the probability of it actually making 30 feet, let alone 30 miles, seems an improbability!
In No.6 having built his kit-boat, he has in fact built a Coracle, which dates back to thousands of years. The material for No.6's Coracle does somewhat differ from the original, employing a tarpaulin sheet instead of cow hide, the addition of a mast and rudder, seen being fitted here. But in all other respects the idea behind the design is the same.
