Is this the moment of the beginning of No.2's downfall? The fact that No.2 might be beginning to like the Prisoner may not have gone un-noticed, the the very least by the television viewer. And then of course he allowed himself to change places with the patient, as is the case in some psychological cases, almost essential! That would not have gone un-noticed either {if they were watching of course} this together with the fact that No.2 failed to gain the full reason behind the Prisoners resignation. Further more No.2 allowed No.6 to die, you will remember that they had changed places.

ReplyDeleteI like the interpretation that No2 allowed No6 to die. So from this view the Prisoner died to leave Sir behind.
