Whenever I watch 'Checkmate,' which is my second favourite episode in 'the Prisoner' series, and I see this scene when Number 6 is following the Rook, when it comes to crossing the chessboard I am always reminded of 'the Prisoner' Conventions of the past. When they used to be held at Portmeirion in summer months. I know this is 'the Prisoner,' but I always feel that at this point the scene is very evocative of summer Prisoner Conventions. It makes me think back to those days, and remember.
