What is The Village Guardian?
Perhaps a 'thing' from another world! Or a creature made from genetically engineered membrane? Perhaps, but smart money is on 'it' being a meteorological weather balloon! Although I do favour the genetically engineered membrane, which possibly started life in a Petri dish in some laboratory somewhere.

Hello David,
ReplyDeleteFor me, sometimes it is the big bubble, the hot air balloon so to say, containing all rules, conventions, anxieties and so on that hold (and sometimes protect or suffocate) us.
I like Roy Harpers line in McGoohans Blues which always makes me think about Rover:
"My age and my time
The blood fire wine and rhyme
That fills my dream reminds me of an atom in a bubble on a wave
That held its breath for one sweet second then was popped and disappeared
Into fruitful futilities meaningless meaning
Meaningless meaning "
Best wishes,

Hello David,
ReplyDelete"genetically engineered membrane, which possibly started life in a Petri dish in some laboratory somewhere." I agree!
To me the Guardian sometimes seems to be that big bubble of anxieties, rules, conventions and the like that keep us away from danger but also help to hold us in our prison. Like it's meant in P09, in a way.
Those two together would imply that rules can be created in a Petri dish. Somehow appropriate.
Very best wishes,
Jana

Hello Jana,
DeleteIn THEPRIS6NER-09 The Village Guardian was conjured up in Six's mind by fear! As Two tells Six in 'Checkmate' "See what you create with your fear!"
Very best wishes
