Thought For The Day
When in ‘A B and C’ Number 2 said that
they’d researched and computed the Prisoner’s whole life, was he referring to a
time before the Prisoner’s abduction to The Village? Because Number 2 in
‘Arrival’ already had an almost complete file on the Prisoner’s life, save for
the time of his birth, only that was a ploy on the part of Number 2, to get the
Prisoner to give away a piece of information with the idea that the reason behind
his resignation would follow. It didn’t! Also the Manager of the Labour
Exchange in ;’Free For All’ said they had everything about Number 6, they even
knew that he had given up sugar four years and three months before. So it would
seem those behind The Village had even gained access to Number 6’s medical
records! Perhaps if they had access to the Prisoner’s letter of resignation,
they might have learned something from that, even presented him with it! Or had
Number 2 of ‘A B and C’ had Number 6’s former life researched and computed again
especially for that episode, which gives the appearance of being the case. But if
so why carry out such research a second time, when all Number 2 had to do was
read Number 6’s file, seeing as they already know everything about him, save
for the reason behind his resignation that is! It seems the only reason behind
‘A B and C,’ is for Number 2 to discover the reason behind the Prisoner’s
resignation, so that his file can be brought up to date!
Be seeing you
