End of The Line!

Dear Friends & Fellow Prisoner Enthusiasts,

The days of publishing articles on the subject of the Prisoner, combined with short stories and novels based on the series are now at an end. After twenty-two years of writing on this blog I have reached the point where there is nothing more I wish to say about the series, and having pushed the boundaries with a large number of short stories, together with 4 novels enough is enough. Although I think three novels was pushing it, however I managed to push it that bit more with ‘Village Day.’

It has been a long, long journey, well twenty-two years is a long time to have been writing about one particular subject, and hardly a day has gone by in all those years when the Prisoner has not occupied my time, and it has been my pleasure, and for the pleasure of YOU the reader. Oh I have not given up on him entirely, I still remain a fan of the series and will watch it now and then, with the occasional episode in between. However I do still have one Prisoner related project I shall be slowly working towards, which is one for the not too distant future.
As for my blog, inactive it might be, yet will remain a place for information, information, information, as well as entertainment with its numerous pieces of Prisoner fiction, all of which I know readers all over the World have read and enjoyed. But all good things must eventually come to an end, and it has been a great pleasure for me to have made contact with fellow enthusiasts for the Prisoner through my blog.

A letter of resignation? I suppose you could call it that!  XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX but nevertheless be seeing you……be seeing you....

David

  1. Looks like I missed everything. It is hard to get a copy of your dusting down of the prisoner so I'm not sure if you know this: On the E at Delphi by Plutarch talks about numbers as much as they are also letters in ancient Greek. Since five multiplied by any number ends in itself or 0 it was connected with Apollo. 6 is the only other single digit whole number that cycles through to repeat its final number as itself when ii is under powers of. This property connected 6 with dionysius. Zm73, taking the letters as numbers is 4773. You can do anything with numbers.

    1. Hello,
All the 10,000 plus entries on my blog are all there to be read. I had just arrived at the point when I felt I had written enough on the subject of the Prisoner, and drew it to a close otherwise I might have found myself starting from the beginning again! And with 4 Prisoner based novels written, well 4 is enough for any writer!

I am sorry you are having great difficulty finding a copy of my book, which is sold out at the publisher, and there is not one second-hand copy for sale anywhere. I have no idea if the publisher will deicide to publish a third edition of ‘Dusted Down.’ All I can do at the moment is point you in the direction of the Kindle version.

The Prisoner Dusted Down: A Personal Examination of The Prisoner TV Series eBook : Stimpson, David: Amazon.co.uk: Books

No, I am not at all familiar with On the E at Delphi by Plutarch, hardly surprising, numbers are not exactly my cup of tea really. Numbers are in everything, the trouble is that in some circumstances they can be manipulated to mean whatever we want! Interesting about ZM73 though.

If I happen to come across a second-hand copy, or should the publisher re-publish the book again, how may I reach you?

      Regards
      David
