A Village Observation

   I have come to the conclusion that the introduction of an oversized, curved, red telephone was simply a prop with which to make certain actors look rediculous! I mean just look at the reaction of Colin Gordon and Patrick Cargill when they have to use this prop in the two images below.

After all, in all the seventeen episodes of the Prisoner, only two actors used this prop, and they were Colin Gordon and Patrick Cargill. When other actors and actresses playing the role of No.2, used a telephone to speak to No.1, they used the usual 'L' shaped telephone, of a different colour.

    However the facial expressions which Derren Nesbitt pulls when he's speaking to No.1 is another story!
