The Butler, and many citizens of the Village can be observed with their colourful striped umbrellas open, even
on days when it is not raining. Well an umbrella does not only protect one form the rain you know, it is equally efficient as a parasol in protection from the sun. What's more an open colourful umbrella, especially when it's twirled, only adds to the colouful pageant that is 'the Prisoner.'
