Thought For The Day

I think the following lines from the Guinness Book of Cult TV sum up very well the conflict between Patrick McGoohan, script writer/editor George Markstein, and ‘the Prisoner.’
One man wanted a spy series, the other wanted to escape from a spy series." And the latter dovetails nicely with what Peter Grahan Scott stated, who had had lunch with George Markstein and asked George what was all this 'the Prisoner?" "He {Patrick McGoohan}regrets 'Danger Man' having gone on too long, he thought, and thinks that he {Patrick McGoohan} is a prisoner of his own success, and he thinks that he {Patrick McGoohan} was trying to say it in some obscure way through 'the Prisoner.' And Peter Graham Scott said "Yes of course. I can see that, and I'll work on that principle" which he did.

Be seeing you
