Anyone who has been to Portmeirion, and walked round the base of the Campanile{Bell Tower}, will know that as No.6 catches up with the Rook at this point in Checkmate, Patrick McGoohan is actually on his knees! Such is the built up lawn on that side of the Campanile. If McGoohan stood up at this point, you would be looking at his mid-riff!
