Caught On Camera

Here he is, the Prisoner sat behind the wheel of his Lotus 7, on his way to his house in Buckingham Place. Now you could be forgiven for thinking that this is from the opening sequence of Arrival, but you would be wrong. In fact this enlargement is taken from Do Not Forsake Me Oh My Darling, as the Prisoner returns to his house in London, and a few moments later it is the Colonel who gets out of the car and goes into the house! So you see Patrick McGoohan appears more in Do Not Forsake Me Oh My Darling than you might first think.
But of course the above enlargement is taken from stock film footage which was originally meant for the opening sequence, but which was cut out. Further film footage which was originally intended for the opening sequence can be seen used as film stock footage in It's Your Funeral.......when No.6 is on his way to pay a call on No.2 in the Green Dome. As No.6 makes his way though the Village he can be seen wearing his charcoal grey suit instead of his Village attire! I suspect that seeing as the film footage is in 'long shot' I suppose that McGoohan and the film editor thought that no-one would notice, they were wrong!  I'll be seeing you.
