Postcard From The Village
It has always amazed me how a number of fans of the Prisoner are under the impression that the Village is situated on an Island. I can only assume that this belief stems from the fact that the RAF Group Captain suggested that it might be an Island when the search area had been calculated and marked on a map in Many Happy Returns. Yet the Map of Your Village clearly shows how it is, situated on a coastline!
One year when I attended a Prisoner Convention at Portmeirion, there was an american fan there, it was his first convention, and had never been to Portmeirion before. He wa sheard to say how disappointed he was, that the Village wasn't on an Island!

Well, maybe it IS an island! If only the map showed a larger area. Alas, they only have local maps. There's no demand for any others. :)
ReplyDeleteHello Sgt,
DeleteMaybe you're right, if The Village is on an Island, there would not be need for any larger maps showing a bigger area, as the local map does show everything!
Good to hear from you
Very best regards
