I think between the 1950's and 60's must have been the most perfect time to have visited Portmeirion. True, I did visit the Italianate Village a great deal in the 1980's and 90's, and they were good times as well. Yet today the feeling of Portmeirion is, that one it is a very expensive place to stay, and secondly it has gone very commercial. No, the 1950's and 60's, or indeed any time previously, would have been the perfect time to experience Portmeirion's purity, and simplicity. Be seeing you
