The Therapy Zone



    As the Prisoner is taken into that locker room by the Supervisor at the commencement of ‘Fall Out,’ the Prisoner puts a hand to the effigy that is wearing his own suit of clothes. Sometimes when I watch this it appears that at one point the Prisoner wants to strangle the life out of it. Memories of Curtis perhaps, or to kill his own identity. But of course I'm wrong. the Prisoner has no such intention, as he calmly unbuttons the black polo shirt.

   I'm of the opinion that the Prisoner used his fiancée Janet Portland. Why, well he had resigned his job, and hadn't told her, otherwise she would have discussed that with her father Sir Charles. And at some point in time the Prisoner had given his fiancée a receipt for a roll of film, which he expected Janet to keep in case of trouble. Then when the Prisoner returned to London he only went to her birthday party to retrieve that receipt for a roll of film he'd had transformed into transparencies - slides.

   Somehow I don't think his fiancée Janet Portland, rated very high on the Prisoner's list of priorities!

   Never did No.6 realise, that when he had been washed up on the beach at Beachy Head during his escape of ‘Many Happy Returns,’ just how close he was to Professor Schnipps rocket - hidden in the lighthouse!

Attack Of The Rovers!

    It was once suggested that when No.6 is in the water, after diving overboard from that jet boat in ‘Free For All,’ that to avoid that white membranic Village Guardian, No.6 could have dived underwater and swam away.

   Furthermore, that seeing as how No.6 was allowed to water-ski in the episode of ‘It’s Your Funeral,’ that he might persuade No.2 in allowing him to partake of another water sport - aqua diving. Then No.6 could escape the village underwater. Well its a theory I suppose, and would have made for a good underwater action sequence. But it would seem that the village guardian - Rover, needs to break surface in order to activate its search for its intended prey. But having said that, it would have been interesting to see how Rover behaves underwater whilst in perused of its prey.

No Longer A prisoner Of the Prisoner

   As I once considered myself to be. I arrived at this conclusion because of a letter I recently received from an old friend, who so happens to be a fan of ‘the Prisoner.’ My friend in his letter, said that he was trying to keep an open mind as far as the new series of ‘the Prisoner’ is concerned, yet he is naturally prejudiced towards the original series.

    As for myself, I welcomed this new series as you know, nothing against the original series you understand, as that will always be my favourite. Yet I am able to open my mind to the idea to this new series of ‘the Prisoner,’ where my friend is not, and others who are so like minded. I wonder if my attitude towards this new series is through the new found freedom I have, the freedom away from a certain prisoner appreciation society, or any other group? An open mind to grasp new concepts, new ideas, and reinterpretations regarding ‘the Prisoner.’ And yet there are others who are turning into the light, and have learned to appreciate THEPRIS6NER.
