At some point in the past I have written
about how 6 Private is smaller on the outside than it is on the inside, meaning
the set of the interior of 6 Private would not fit into the actual Round House
cottage on location in Portmeirion, only the study of his London house would fit. Which means Number 6
would have lived in a pokey little cottage without proper amenities, kitchen,
bathroom, or bedroom. And equally the same could apply to the Green Dome.
Had the set designer kept to the actual
configuration and dimensions of the Pantheon building in Portmeirion, and
reproduced those dimensions for the size of the interior set of the Green Dome,
then Number 2
would have ended up with a rather smaller, less impressive office. The front
door to the Green Dome would then have opened up directly into the office,
leaving no room for a foyer. No French double doors, and certainly no thick
blast-proof doors!
Be seeing you
